Accessibility Statement

Last updated: October 16, 2026

Rootwell Benefits is committed to making our website usable by everyone, including people with disabilities. Choosing health coverage is important, and we want every visitor to be able to read our guides, use our tools, and reach an advisor without barriers.

Our standard

We strive to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, the standard referenced by the U.S. Department of Justice and courts in applying the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) to websites. While we make ongoing efforts to improve accessibility, we recognize that some portions of the website or certain third-party content may not yet fully conform to these standards.

What we have in place

  • We use semantic HTML, descriptive headings, labels, and other accessibility best practices throughout the site where reasonably practicable.
  • Visible keyboard focus indicators on interactive elements, and keyboard-operable navigation, forms, and tools.
  • Text alternatives on informative images, and ARIA labels on controls whose purpose is not conveyed by text alone.
  • Color contrast is designed with WCAG 2.1 AA recommendations in mind.
  • Reduced-motion support: animations are toned down for visitors whose system settings request reduced motion.
  • A full Spanish version of the main site content, with the page language correctly declared for screen readers in both languages.
  • Tooltips and interactive helpers that work by keyboard and touch, not only on mouse hover.

Known limitations and ongoing work

  • A "skip to content" link for keyboard users is planned but not yet in place.
  • Some third-party components we embed (video players, the appointment scheduling widget) are controlled by their providers and may not fully meet WCAG 2.1 AA. If one of them blocks you, contact us and we will complete the same task with you by phone or email.
  • PDF documents generated by our tools (such as the Medicare Scope of Appointment) may not yet be fully tagged for screen readers. A signed copy can be reviewed with your advisor on request.
  • Interactive calculators present numeric results visually; we are improving their announcements for assistive technologies.
  • Third-party content: some portions of our website rely on third-party providers and embedded services that we do not control. While we make reasonable efforts to select accessible providers, we cannot guarantee the accessibility of third-party websites, applications, or embedded content.

Compatibility

Enforcement and review

We periodically review our website and accessibility practices and make improvements as resources and technology evolve.
